Description

LCB Senior Living is looking for an amazing professional to join our accounting team. The Senior Accountant performs accounting functions, including reviewing and preparing monthly financial statements and reporting for a portfolio of senior housing properties. Ensure accurate and complete accounting records and transactions are prepared and maintained.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

a. Job experience: 4-6 years of accounting experience preferred. Exposure to real estate or senior housing accounting preferred.

b. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Thorough understanding of full-cycle accounting transactions and their effects on the General Ledger and financial statements. Clear understanding of Escrow balance including real estate tax, insurance and replacement reserves.

c. The ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing is required.

d. Education/License: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.

Technical skills: Advanced competency with computer, peripherals and variety of software including Microsoft Office 365.

e. Behavioral Skills: Ability to handle pressure, meet deadlines and set priorities for workload. Ability to interpret responsibilities and possess the initiative and willingness to assume additional responsibilities. Ability to solve routine problems independently. Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service attitude will be essential for success in order to communicate effectively with senior living community personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Promote the mission and core values of LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community.

2. Perform all duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude.

3. Perform full-cycle accounting transactions through the General Ledger

4. Review and prepare monthly financial statements and reporting for a portfolio of senior housing properties

5. Complete cash management of selected portfolio

6. Prepare lender reporting and lender replacement reserve requests

7. Maintain and record additional capital contributions

8. Review and reconcile all distribution journal entries

9. Initiate payments in accordance with requirements of various mortgage notes

10. Assist in preparation of property operating budgets

11. Monitor escrow balances, including real estate, insurance, and replacement reserves

12. Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors or leaders
