Job Description

Position Summary: The Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst (Senior FP&A Analyst) acts as the primary Finance Partner for G&A leaders at a $800+ million international capital equipment manufacturer in the semiconductor industry. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and forecasting global spending within G&A functions, providing actual-vs-forecast and actual-vs-prior-period variance analyses, and delivering crisp reporting of spending results and forecasts to G&A leaders. This position is also responsible for administering global allocations of G&A-hosted shared services such as IT, facilities, and insurance in a multi-entity intercompany environment. May develop and deliver financial and business training programs, as appropriate.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
  1. Collect, compile, and analyze complex business and financial information data from all components of the organizational entity, and develop integrated expense spreadsheets, analyses, projections, reports, and presentations.
  2. Finance lead for Global G&A expenses and ad hoc analysis. Provides information as a subject matter expert on expense trend (where are we spending our money), global and internal IT allocation support, software and service contract amortizations, HC reporting, and other key data that drives finance and accounting systems.
  3. Partners with G&A executives to develop detailed budgets, forecasts, and opportunities for cost control, including any specific project ROI where necessary.
  4. Presents monthly, quarterly, and annual results (Actuals vs. Forecast/Operating Plan) to the Executive management team and sub functional leaders of G&A
  5. Helps prepare Allocations (IT, Insurance, Facility) and responsible for accurately forecasting and partnering with Accounting on the Billing.
  6. Assist in preparation of forecasts, budgets, strategic plan, and a variety of periodic ad hoc financial reporting, including actual vs. budget reports with variance analyses and recommendations for corrective action(s). Includes partnering with key leads in G&A.
  7. Review data to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and accounting systems.
  8. Develop and deliver reference tools and training for non-financial personnel in the areas of accounting, budgeting, forecasting and business policies and procedures.
  9. Provide coordination to various accounting and technical personnel engaged in specified project activities, as appropriate.
  10. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Education/Training: Bachelor's degree or higher in business or economics-related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of financial planning and analysis experience is required. Experience in a global public manufacturing company is preferred.
  • Skills/Technical Requirements:
    • Familiarity with multi-company and multi-cultural environments.
    • Experience with CPM tools and ERP systems.
    • MS Office, including intermediate/expert level skills in Excel, along with intermediate level in Word, PowerPoint and demonstrated ability to learn quickly to use integrated accounting systems, databases and software applications.
    • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating, developing, and implementing new approaches and processes.
    • Ability to plan, implement and administer control systems.
    • Basic knowledge of US GAAP.
    • Ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex financial actual and forecast information.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication and group presentation skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community.
    • Ability to provide training and technical guidance to others.

Job Conditions/Physical Demands: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. May travel to other company locations in Europe and Asia as needed, no more than 10% of the time. Little physical demands on this position.

Protective Devices Required: None or limited exposure to physical risk.
