We're the team that drives the product and strategy for Workday's secret sauce - our technology platform that was designed from scratch for the cloud. We own the complete stack and tools that delivers and supports Workday products across private and public clouds (e.g. on-premise, AWS, GCP, Azure). We enable Workday's scale: ~50% of Fortune 500 companies, 10,000+ customers, 60MM+ Workers, ~365B Transactions.

You are an experienced Product Manager with a track record for successfully getting technical sought-after products to market. You are excited by the challenge to design and build systems for scale.

We are growing at a fast pace and are looking for a Principal Product Manager of our data platform which provides critical data processing, storage, query and visualisation capabilities. You will work to identify, specify, and prioritize features through direct partnership with customers, partners, developers and your knowledge of the domain. You will help define the roadmap and focus areas of investment to maximize outcomes. Working closely with engineering leaders, you will execute and deliver on the product roadmap. You have the ability to understand and make decisions in a high stakes environment. Above all, you will serve as the voice of the customer for our products.

About You

We are open to hiring either a Sr or Principal Product Manager for this role. Please see below for Basic Qualifications for both

Basic Qualifications (Sr Level)
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in PaaS, SaaS, B2B, or high scale products.
  • 10 + years' total experience in a technical role to include software engineering or Technical Product Management
  • Detailed experience with data platform technologies - messaging & caching services, data collection, processing & storage, data analytics and data governance - ex. Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ
  • Experience with scrum and other agile development methods is a requirement.
  • Proven track record managing the entire product lifecycle: defining business problems, researching customer needs, prototyping and testing new solutions, working with design and engineering teams, and prioritizing an Agile development backlog.
Basic Qualifications (Principal Level)
  • 7+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in PaaS, SaaS, B2B, or high scale products.
  • + years' total experience in a technical role to include software engineering or Technical Product Management
  • Detailed experience with data platform technologies - messaging & caching services, data collection, processing & storage, data analytics and data governance - ex. Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ
  • Experience with scrum and other agile development methods is a requirement.
  • Proven track record managing the entire product lifecycle: defining business problems, researching customer needs, prototyping and testing new solutions, working with design and engineering teams, and prioritizing an Agile development backlog.

  • An inherently collaborative style that enables you to win the hearts and minds of your peers to successfully implement a complex product roadmap, with execution often happening across teams.
  • Excellent communications and influencing skills across all levels of a large organization, as well as with external partners and stakeholders.
  • The sort of personality who thrives in a fast-moving, quickly changing atmosphere.
  • BA/BS in a computer science, economics or accounting, or equivalent. MBA or Master's degree is a plus.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate's compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $144,000 USD - $216,000 USD

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $136,800 USD - $246,000 USD
