Texas Oncology is looking for a Virtual Care Patient Services Coordinator to join our team This position will support all of Texas Oncology in a remote capacity. What does the position do?

Responsible for the coordination and operation of the Virtual Care Program in a remote environment. Acts as liaison with physicians, patients and other office staff. Responsible for assisting in the development of and administration of office policies and procedures. Coordinates office staff activities and responsibilities. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Participates in the completion of month-end close checklist for all assigned items to ensure meeting or exceeding corporate timelines.
  • Ensures that authorizations are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Maintains knowledge of current health care and billing trends and practices.
  • Creates daily team coverage schedules
  • Prepares materials needed by the Department relative to processes or programs. Designs, implements, and updates forms for use within the office by applying knowledge of software applications.
  • Keeps abreast of changes to policy, procedures, and services, preparing and delivering appropriate communication of these changes.
  • Keeps training and onboarding documents organized and up to date
  • Supports preparation of reports and statistics as required including assessing and reporting on the effectiveness and outcomes achieved from program activities.
  • Ensures staff and local clinics are trained to be able to carry out their duties and responsibilities and to be able to effectively engage with us.
  • Provides administrative support for special projects to include research, compiling data and the preparation of summary reports.
  • Maintains files in an organized and accessible manner to include updating information, purging files on a regular basis and creating new filing and data systems as needed.
  • Ability to rapidly and efficiently move between multiple electronic systems.
  • Maintains team calendar
  • Other duties as assigned to improve the efficiency and operations of Virtual Care
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience:
  • College degree in Healthcare Administration
  • Two years of medical office experience preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of supervisory experience.

Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
