Amergis is hiring for an Anesthesia Technician The Anesthesia Technician performs a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist attending anesthesiologists, residents and nurse anesthetists in performing anesthetic procedures for patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics. Additionally, performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies. + Company: Amergis Staffing + Location: Chicago, IL + Shift: Full time 6a-2pm OR PRN for all shifts + Schedule: Monday - Friday, weekends as needed + Weekly pay + benefits provided Essential Responsibilities:+ Consults operating room schedule to determine supply and equipment needs for procedures; prepare anesthetizing locations for indicated procedure to include setting up and calibrating monitoring devices; troubleshoot anesthesia equipment malfunctions, routing non-functional equipment to the proper department for repair+ Assists anesthesia providers using aseptic or sterile techniques with non-invasive and invasive patient procedures, including peripheral and/or central intravenous and/or arterial line placement; airway management techniques including mask endotracheal and/or emergency methods and regional anesthesia techniques+ Cleans anesthesia machines, monitors and equipment following procedures established by Infection Control+ Stocks, maintains and obtains anesthesia supplies in all anesthetizing locations and as requested by the anesthesia providers+ Assists with patient laboratory tests and results including, but not limited to, ABG’s, ACT’s and other point of care tests+ Obtains blood products and pharmaceuticals assisting with preparation and delivery+ Maintains immediate availability to assist in routine and emergency procedures+ May assume anesthesia technician charge role in managing daily work schedule of anesthesia technicians and directing care to provide an efficient and safe environment+ Assists the anesthesiologist with all anesthesia procedures; expediting patient flow through the perioperative area, maintaining patient safety, and developing and maintaining external+ (Patient, Surgeon) and internal (Anesthesiologist, staff) customer satisfaction+ Responsible for set up, operation and maintenance of specialized equipment, including life support+ Assists the Anesthesiologist with evaluation and monitoring of the patients during the perioperative phaseMinimum Requirements:+ High School diploma or equivalent required+ Current CPR card+ Five (5) years of recent experience working in an operating room or procedural environment + Must have knowledge of the Anesthesia Machine (Draeger or GE) + Must be familiar with Blood pressure Monitors, EKG Monitors, Pulse Oximeter, and patient's warming units (Bair Hugger/ Level 1) + Must be familiar with all anesthesia supplies used for all surgical cases under anesthesia. + Must provide 2 Anesthesia Supervisor references for consideration from previous employer+ COVID-19 Vaccine required Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:+ Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
