JOB DESCRIPTION – PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To coordinate with Project Managers and Management during the processing of job-related payables and receivables. Oversee the project from an accounting perspective from start to finish.

HOURS OF WORK: General hours 8:00AM – 5:00PM, Monday – Friday. Additional hours may be required as needed including some weekend work to accomplish responsibilities. This position is professional, salaried and exempt from overtime.

LOCATION: WPC Corporate Offices. Travel (local errands) or to the job sites as directed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Input and track all job cost related payables. Review and input all Subcontractor Pay Applications and their related Schedules of Values. Input and prepare monthly Owner draws and related Schedules of Values. Post cash receipts. Collect and maintain Notice to Owner documentation and related Lien Releases.

Set up and maintain project files.

Work with Project Managers in obtaining necessary information to generate on time monthly cost reports.

Analyzing job performance weekly to ensure cost coding and forecasting is accurate. Participate in monthly project review meetings looking for ways to increase client satisfaction and improve efficiency profitability.

Interact with Subcontractors, Vendors, Suppliers, Clients, Governmental Agencies, etc. Must be courteous, professional and diplomatic in dealing with external contacts.

Prepare special reports and complete other projects as directed by the CFO.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 4 years accounting experience in the Construction Industry. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be a team player and a self-starter

APPLICATION SOFTWARE: Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, Sage Intacct and Procore.

COMMENTS: Reports to the CFO. Must possess excellent problem-solving skills.
