Staff Accountant

Responsibilities:

Prepare tax returns and tax planning - individual and business

Assist with compilation, review, and audit engagements, in a variety of industries

Participate in valuation engagements

Conduct tax research and assist with tax notices

Skills/Attributes:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance

Internship or professional accounting experience; one to three years

A natural passion for math, and a strong understanding of the intricacies of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial transactions

Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality

Knowledge of basic accounting functions and the ability to work with technical accuracy, attention to detail and compliance with instructions

Must be able to organize, prioritize and coordinate workload to meet critical deadlines

Must demonstrate self-motivation, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, QuickBooks, tax and workpaper management software

Preferred Qualifications:

Pursuit of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a plus but not required

Experience in Individual tax preparation and small business accounting

Desire to continue to grow through continuing education

Salary Range (based on experience): $55,000 to $75,000
