Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer). 5 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. **Preferred Qualifications:** SCDOT experience. Experience with roadway hydraulic design, including ditches, small pipe culverts, storm sewer systems, outfall analysis, and drainage investigations. Experience with bridge and/or culvert design over streams using the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) design guidelines, such as Hydraulic Design Series 5, 7, etc. Experience with design and permitting of stormwater systems for roadways including rural, urban, and limited access systems. Experience with drainage design using the SCDOT best management practices. Experience using Microstation CADD and Geopak Drainage Software, HY8, HECRAS, HEC1 or HECHMS, ARCGIS.
