The role of the Director is to lead and act as a primary point of contact for acquisitions, dispositions, and corporate restructurings, including due diligence, negotiation, structuring, and post-close integration. This fast-growing and dedicated team advises private equity groups, corporations, partnerships, and privately held businesses on all tax aspects of M&A transactions and also supports our other service lines, including transaction advisory.
The Director is responsible for facilitating positive customer experience outcomes, generating and leading business development opportunities, and spearheading resource development initiatives that drive growth across all of our service lines.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide high-quality client service that meets and/or exceeds client expectations
- Perform buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence and develop tax-efficient acquisition and divestiture structures and communicates findings and opportunities to clients. Assist clients and outside legal counsel to review tax and financial models, as well as transaction documents.
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously and work with engagement teams on a full spectrum of tax and structuring considerations related to complex corporate and partnership transactions including mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations, and restructurings
- Manage, develop, and train the M&A tax team and create a collaborative team environment and motivate the team through communication and actions
- Identify new client pursuits, develop proposals and thought leadership content, and be visible in the market developing relationships
- Be growth motivated, own client relationships, and oversee engagement economics and management of resources
- Lead conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders to build trust
- CPA Certification or J.D. / LL.M and 8+ years in total of public accounting, corporate tax department, or law firm
- Technical expertise in transaction advisory services and related matters, including buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence projects and working understanding of state and local tax concepts
- Proven abilities and success applying and interpreting federal income tax law as it relates to tax due diligence, including Subchapter C corporations, partnerships, consolidating groups, tax-efficient structuring, and reorganization provisions
- High-level comprehension of corporate tax matters in various industries with the ability to effectively communicate
- Experience in hiring, developing, and leading an audit team
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Effective time management skills
