COST ACCOUNTANT/ ANALYST - CARROLLTON, TX

OVERVIEW:

The Plant Cost Accountant/Analyst will support the Plant Controllers and Plant Management in handling day-to-day reporting, costing, forecasting, annual budgeting, period-end and year-end accounting/finance functions, ad hoc analysis, and special projects as needed. The successful candidate is a quick learner, exhibits a positive attitude and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment, and has strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Production and distribution of daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to plant operations.
  • Performs regular variance analysis and provides written and verbal explanations to Plant Controller and Plant Management.
  • Provides costing for new and reformulated products.
  • Establish working relationships with plant operation partners to obtain and provide meaningful insight and analysis for plant financial results.
  • Complete monthly period-end close-related tasks including preparing journal entries, expense accruals, and cost/variance analysis to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely reporting of financial results.
  • Contribute to the timely completion of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations including resolving reconciling items.
  • Support facility cycle count and physical inventory controls and procedures.
  • Maintain the company's accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist with forecasting and annual budgeting process.
  • Assist with annual audit requests to provide timely and accurate information.
  • Create reports as needed, ad hoc analysis, and other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 3+ years of hands-on financial or cost analyst experience preferred
  • Cost accounting experience including Bill of Materials, Labor, and Overhead accounting.
  • Full understanding of accounting and GAAP.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other MS products
