We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join our team at Thomas Edwards Group. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and investigate variances in labor and overhead costs to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Calculate pricing for new products, including determining machine and labor rates based on production volumes.
- Coordinate with operations teams to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and spoilage.
- Provide meaningful reports to stakeholders on labor productivity and other key performance indicators.
- Assist in the development and implementation of cost-saving initiatives.
- Perform month-end closing and prepare general ledger reconciliations.
- Serve as a backup for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited university.
- 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in cost accounting or manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other accounting software.
