Overview
ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB is seeking a Land Development Project Manager to join our Land Development (Civil Engineering) team based in Tampa or Sarasota, FL.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. Our past and present clients include commercial and residential, industrial, healthcare, higher education, municipal and local government, and federal agencies including the Veteran's Administration.
Responsibilities
* Work with a production team to develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects, including large and medium-scale projects
* Support preparation of various land development design and permitting documents
* Responsible for project financial performance and client relations
* Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the designs
* Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them
* Supervise design team activities during Construction Administration
* Manage work and development of junior-level staff
* Manage small, medium, or large projects
* Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions
Skills and Attributes
* Highly Proficient in the following:
* AutoCAD Civil 3D
* Microsoft Project
* MS Office Suite
* Skills to implement our integrated services approach
* Comprehensive understanding of design, details, and construction drawing preparation including site layout, grading, drainage, and utilities
* Knowledge of Florida land development construction including codes and development regulations
* Knowledge of construction materials and detailing
* Experience with green initiative programs and low-impact design (LEED, Envision)
* Excellent innovative design skills
* Project research and analysis
* Strong, creative engineering skills and ability to adhere to office standards
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Self-motivated, ability to think critically
* Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
* Excels at working in a team environment
* Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential
* Has interest in growing business development skills
Qualifications
* BS in Civil Engineering or related degree
* 8+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects
* PE licensure in Florida or able to obtain within 12 months
* Proficient in site layout, grading, utility, and stormwater management design
* Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports
