**Industrial Custodian**

**Job ID** 58228 **SUMMARY**

The Buildings & Grounds position is an hourly position, and reports to the Maintenance Leader. The employee is responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness of the roofing production facilities and the roofing and asphalt grounds. This position will require flexible schedule at times based on winter conditions and coordination with safety representative (i.e. overnight snow storms).

**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Maintain buildings, attachments, and grounds by:

* Mowing, tree trimming, weed-eating, and landscaping

* Operate and use Tennant walk behind floor cleaner

* Total clean-up of Break Room at start of week

* Maintain plant lighting- replacing lamps as required

* Sweeping aisle daily

* Wipe down guard rails along aisle

* Maintain, clean and organized, areas including Air Compressor rooms, Hot oil rooms, MCC rooms and Soap Storage area

* Maintain hazardous waste area; clean as needed and organized

* Painting and scraping as required to include floor epoxy application

* Salt application during icy and snow accumulation periods

* Snow shoveling as and where needed

* Drive snow plow truck to remove snow in parking lots (Cold weather)

* Drive and operate the Bobcat sweeper to clean parking lots (Warm weather)

* Safely operate aerial lift equipment such as Snorkel lift and scissor lifts

* Monitor and maintain cleanliness of exterior work areas

* Distribution of delivered janitorial supplies

* Follow and enforce all safety rules and procedures, training, and initiatives

* Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas

* Participate on safety teams

* Participate on process teams

* Other tasks as directed or required

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

* Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility are required

* Good communication skills

* Accountability and ownership for actions

* Able to think under pressure and make quick decisions

* Ability to work well in a team or alone

* Able to communicate in English

* Ability to read a tape measure and do basic math

* Able to learn the responsibilities of the position.

* Basic computer skills (E-Mail, Excel, Word, SAP)

**COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES**

A strong candidate must be able to:

* Log into computer and navigate the intranet to view paycheck/benefit information.

* Log into and navigate Owens Corning Learning portal to complete required online training routinely

**EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE**

* High School Diploma or GED equivalency

* Completed and passed lift truck training programs and have a valid fork lift operator license

* Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

**ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT**

A strong candidate should possess the ability to:

* Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs without assistance

* Ability to routinely lift up to 80 lbs with assistance

* Work for up to 8 hours in extreme hot/cold manufacturing environment

* Operate/sit/drive, as required during shift work lasting 8-12 hours.

* Routinely ascend and descend stairs and forklift to enter work areas

* Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) steel toed shoes, ear plugs, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) as necessary for task

* Push/drive floor sweeping and cleaning equipment or tools as necessary for housekeeping duties

* Ability to work overtime as necessary
