Job Overview

Star Tribune is actively looking for a dedicated full-time custodian to perform a variety of general housekeeping and industrial cleaning tasks at our production facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, washing, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and restroom sanitation.
  • Utilize floor cleaning equipment for tasks such as waxing and buffing.
  • Conduct outdoor maintenance including lawn care and snow removal.
  • Manage waste disposal, recycling, and compacting processes.
  • Execute machine cleaning as assigned.
  • Assist in moving and rearranging furniture as required.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in custodial services is required; experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • A high school diploma is preferred.
  • Ability to read and adhere to safety signage and protocols.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations regarding cleaning agents.
  • Exceptional customer service skills towards all facility personnel.
  • Capability to follow directions as necessary.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Experience operating motorized dollies, floor cleaning machines, lawnmowers, and snow removal tools.
  • Must frequently bend, kneel, and squat as part of the job duties.

Work Schedule: Full-time, consisting of 7 hours per day with a total of 35 hours per week. Shifts and start times may vary.

Compensation: This position is part of a union, with a starting wage of $17.08/hr.
