Overview:

Star Tribune is in search of a dedicated custodian to undertake various general housekeeping and industrial cleaning responsibilities at our production facility.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performing a variety of custodial tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Thorough cleaning, dusting, washing, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and restroom sanitation.
  • Utilizing floor machines for cleaning, waxing, and buffing surfaces.
  • Conducting outdoor maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal.
  • Managing waste disposal, recycling, and compacting tasks.
  • Executing machine cleaning as directed.
  • Rearranging and moving furniture as necessary.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess:

  • Prior custodial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • A high school diploma is preferred.
  • The ability to read and adhere to safety signage and protocols.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to cleaning agents.
  • Exceptional customer service skills to assist all facility personnel.
  • The capability to follow instructions effectively.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Experience operating motorized dollies, floor cleaning machinery, lawnmowers, and snow removal tools.
  • The ability to frequently bend, kneel, and squat.
  • Vaccination against COVID-19 or an approved accommodation based on disability or sincerely held religious beliefs.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 7 hours per day, totaling a 35-hour work week. Shifts and start times may vary.

Compensation: This is a union position with a starting wage of $17.08/hr.

All job offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-placement drug screening, employment verification, and criminal background check.
