Responsibilities:

About the role

The Analyst II Asset Liability Management (ALM) will be responsible for Interest Rate Risk (IRR) modeling and analysis to support the development of the ALM function. This role is critical to developing and executing the ALM model and processes, as well as performing quantitative analysis of the company's balance sheet and recommending capital and risk mitigation strategies. The key responsibility of this role will be to execute monthly ALM production runs to calculate Net Interest Income (NII) and Economic Value of Equity (EVE) and Duration Gap (DV01) metrics on the Balance sheet and present them in Internal review and Asset Liability Committee (ALCO). Additionally, to perform analysis of financial information encompassing financial statement forecasting to support Budgeting planning.

In this role you will:

  • Support the research, development, and implementation of GM Financial's ALM model
  • Provide in-depth analysis to support the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) reporting of interest rate, cross currency, and liquidity risks
  • Attend ALCO meeting every month and prepare and distribute minutes to senior management for approval
  • Support balance sheet forecasting and planning process; working closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis team to coordinate assumptions, methodologies, and results
  • Develop models and reports to track asset cash flows and origination trends
  • Maintain up to date model documentation and work with internal constituents such as Audit and Model validation for the assigned ALM model
  • Develop and update procedures, policies, and internal control documentation as required
  • Work with funding/liquidity team and FP&A team to gather, input and forecast funding assumptions and how they impact the overall ALM/IRR metrics


Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of finance, statistics, accounting, and/or financial services
  • Understanding of key fixed income risk concepts such as convexity and duration
  • Knowledge of modeling financial information, including forecasting
  • Knowledge of capital markets
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, and other query tools including SQL
  • Power Point and Microsoft Office skills
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Utilizes advanced analytics to assess market and liquidity risks
  • Detail oriented

Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelors Degree ?Finance, Economics, Statistics in related field or equivalent work experience required
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • 1 -3 years asset liability management, financial analysis, data mining, statistics and forecasting required
  • Intermediate SAS coding skills

Licenses

  • ?CFA and/or MBA or progress towards, a plus
