Job DescriptionSenior Dietitian - CLINICAL NUTRITION, Providence St. Patrick Hospital, Missoula, MTThe Clinical Dietitian II assists in directing and supervising personnel in the Food and Nutrition department to provide quality health care in serving all types of nutritionally balanced and appetizing meals to patients through collaboration with food service staff. The clinical dietitian II must be competent in providing medical nutrition therapy, nutrition support (Parenteral and Enteral), and nutrition education to a variety of patients in all patient care settings (ICU/floor units/CVL, Cancer Center). The dietitian will perform nutritional assessments; implement nutritional care plans, document assessments and all re-assessments/follow-ups in computer medical record per TJC and CMS requirements. The dietitian II will be required to attend multi-disciplinary rounds &/or care-conferences on the current floor he/she is covering. In this position, a dietitian II must be able to work independently on a single unit (ICU vs. floor) and be able to see 10-14 patients in an 8 hour shift. The dietitian II will be required to provide education to physicians, nurses, dietitian I's and other clinical staff on evidence-based practices in clinical nutrition particularly in their area of specialty. This position is required to present research articles in a hospital-associated journal club (ie such as medical journal club) This position is required to be a primary clinical preceptor to the dietetic interns from the Montana Dietetic Internship program. A dietitian II is responsible for creating the internship rotation projects as well as reviewing the projects with the interns.Providence caregivers are not simply valued - they're invaluable.
