office. This candidate will drive the marketing and business development efforts of the Cleveland office to expand relationships with existing clients and obtain new business for the firm. The Regional Growth Manager focuses on strengthening the firm's regional market position and local business base and works closely with the Cleveland office partner in charge. This involves assisting lawyers with business development and marketing needs and acting as the onsite go-to Marketing & Strategy resource for the Cleveland office.

This position utilizes tools, resources, knowledge and experience to contribute to the overall success of the firm. In addition, the Regional Growth Manager works with several of the firm's Client Service Teams and runs point for one or more firmwide department initiatives, which may include practice or industry related support as needed.

The Regional Growth Manger serves as a thought leader, catalyst for action, project manager and execution lead for efforts within the department, the office and across the firm.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as proactive catalyst, resource and point-of-contact for Cleveland office lawyers and staff for the firm's business development and marketing activities.
Work closely with office partner in charge to prepare annual regional marketing/BD plan and budget, as well as drive execution, monitor results and track associated budget.
Develop strategies focusing on regional market position and drive the execution of those strategies working with office leadership and the lawyers.
Conduct research and analysis to enhance understanding of the market and opportunities, as well as support client development. Understand regional competitors, the local client base, and regional prospects to proactively help drive expanded work for existing clients and targeting of prospective clients.
Assist Cleveland attorneys with business development coaching and the creation and regular updating of business development plans.
Identify and facilitate promotional opportunities including regional distinction and recognition submissions, public speaking, publishing, newsworthy topics, events, sponsorships, etc. and manage the Cleveland office relationship with Crain's Cleveland Business and other local publications.
Manage external client-facing regional events, seminars (including CLE), sponsorships and conferences.
Lead and manage one or more firmwide Marketing & Strategy area of responsibility and participate in other initiatives as needed. Current firmwide initiatives for the Cleveland Office Regional Growth Manager include Client Service Teams, Supply Chain Initiative, and Chemical Industry Initiative.
Provide marketing business development support for the Cleveland office with external efforts related to Spotlight on Women and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
Work with Senior Marketing Research Analyst to prepare background information on prospective clients including demographic, marketing, and client research.
Share best practices with Marketing & Strategy peers and participate actively as a member of that team and a collaborator with all in the group.
Work closely with the firm's Associate Director or Media Relations to identify newsworthy ideas for pitching to the press in the Cleveland market.
Participate in Marketing & Strategy orientation for Cleveland office new lawyer hires.
Serve as on-site resource (Cleveland office) to ensure lawyers and staff are appropriately trained in marketing and business development tools and resources so they know what is available and how to access what is available.
Collaborate with the External Relations Manager, Cleveland office partner in charge and others as needed and in relation to Cleveland office community events, community relations and budgeting.
Prepares yearly calendar of submissions and nominations for the Cleveland office to be proactive and complete each of them on time and in an efficient manner. Project manages this process to ensure deadlines are met.
Be a resource for Cleveland lawyers for regular updating of their biographies.
Provide updates to the Cleveland office page on the firm website.
Collaborate with National Practice Growth Manager(s) to assist Cleveland lawyers with proposals and RFPs.
Assist with efforts related to the firmwide initiatives including SmartPaTH, LPM, value-pricing, client service excellence and other client-facing areas the firm is leveraging to strengthen client relationships.
Other duties as assigned.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days in-office per week. The schedule may fluctuate as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
.
Education, Training and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in marketing, public relations, communications, business or a related field and a minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience ideally in the professional services industry, preferably legal.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Demonstrated strength in interacting and communicating with all levels of the firm.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); capable of creating and maintaining PC directories and files of marketing documents.
Willing to take responsibility for establishing and accomplishing performance objectives related to job description.
Understanding of marketing and business development concepts and the needs and expectations of law firms.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and see projects through from concept to completion.
Continuously look for ways to improve efficiencies through new processes, procedures or tools.
Team player.
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential function of this job.
Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette are mandatory.
Possesses interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with a diverse group of employees.
Ability to handle tasks under pressure.
Ability to adjust work schedule to work other hours, as required.
This position requires the employee to work at a specified location and hours determined by the Manager for the benefit of the department and firm.

Changes to the location and/or scheduled hours must be approved by the Manager.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of office practices and procedures; word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; correct use of grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Organizing and planning techniques; marketing principles and methods; ability to present a positive image to the public; and develop creative ways to solve problems. Understanding of social media and how to apply social media in business development efforts is a plus.
