What You'll Do Discover's Business Technology Development Program is an exciting 2 year rotational program with opportunities for highly motivated individuals who are interested in exploring a host of disciplines within Discover. Participants can expect: Rotations aimed at aligning personal talents with business initiatives Challenging and impactful work assignments that support Discover's strategic priorities and objectives Opportunities to work on cross-functional projects and/or teams Opportunities to improve processes, manage complex projects, and present their work to senior leaders Enhance their abilities to lead projects, make decisions, problem solve and think creatively Dedicated program managers, experienced rotational managers and knowledgeable peer advisors Interaction with key stakeholders and leadership through both projects and program events Opportunity for career advancement and success Opportunities may exist in variety of different areas enterprise-wide including: Application Development (Card/Bank and Payments) Cybersecurity Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure Services How You'll Do It Work as a member of a technology team applying agile practices to deliver product based projects Collaborate to enhance processes, automate services, and increase reliability and security Work with technologies/services/platforms such as: Unix, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Cloud Foundry, Java/J2EE, Scala, Spring, REST, Jenkins, Gradle, Git, Nexus, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, MongoDB, Oracle, Teradata, ETL and more Leverage agile software development methodologies to define and review business requirements for new services, functions or applications Consistently follow standard work processes and documentation requirements. Recommend improvement to work processes to increase efficiency while maintaining quality of work. Continuously improves technical and leadership skills through training and development Qualifications You'll Need The Basics Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cyber Security Engineering, Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Engineering, or Risk Management This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship Bonus Points If You Have Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate ideas into clear priorities High energy and intellectual curiosity Strong analytical skills and a consultative approach to addressing customer needs Strong business acumen, knowledge of financial industry, risk management, and business metrics Strong Object Oriented Programming Skills (Java, Python, Javascript, etc.) Experience with Agile project management methodology Demonstrated ability to solve problems creatively Ability to apply previous experience and knowledge to new situations and problems Operates as a team player Application Deadline: The application window for this position is anticipated to close on Aug-05-2024. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
