Description/Job Summary

The Truancy Intervention Program provides direct services to children of compulsory school age, Kindergarten through 12th grade, identified as truant per the attendance policy of their school district and the PA Department of Education. Services are offered to all 12 public school districts throughout Lackawanna County. The Truancy Intervention Program Supervisor will oversee 4 full-time Truancy Intervention caseworkers, and reports to the Director. Typical business hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00 - 5:00; however, the Program Supervisor must be available for supervision during non-business hours based on the workflow of their caseworkers. This is an office-based position.

Responsibilities/Duties

Administrative

+ Adheres to established regulations, policies, and procedures of the overall agency and their specific component.

+ Ensures that program staff adheres to established regulations, policies, and procedures of the overall agency and their specific component.

+ Collects monthly stats and data

+ Prepares monthly and annual reports as needed

+ Completes monthly billing and submits to Director

+ Attends seminars, conferences, and training to enhance skill and job performance

+ Maintains consistent and positive connections with agency staff, contract providers, and community agencies

+ Assists in the development and implementation of new program initiatives

+ Other duties as assigned

Program Supervision

+ Assigns work cases within 2 days

+ Supervise/monitor program caseworkers as they provide direct services to clients

+ Ensures documentation is completed professionally, effectively, and in a timely fashion, including monthly reports and discharge paperwork

+ Meets formally bi-weekly with individual staff and documents this contact

+ Meets monthly with all staff. Agenda is submitted to Director prior to meeting. Notes are taken during meeting and reviewed with Director.

+ Meets weekly with Director to discuss program cases and staff-related issues

+ Meets monthly with other supervisors and Director.

Case Management/Direct Service

+ There is no assigned caseload requirement; however, Program Supervisors must ensure services continue during a prolonged absence of the assigned caseworker.

Miscellaneous

+ Participates in the holiday toy program

+ Participates in outreach efforts and community events

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Human Services-related field, with 3-5 years of casework experience OR a Master's Degree in Social Work or Human Services related filed, with some casework experience

+ Must possess a Valid PA Driver's License and have access to a vehicle during business hours

+ Proof of current ChildLine, PA State Police, and FBI background checks within last 24 calendar months or to be completed by employer prior to beginning employment

+ Proof of completed Foundations Training (formerly Charting the Course) or to be completed concurrently with employment

+ Proof of completed Mandated Reporter Training within last 24 calendar months or to be completed upon employment

+ Employer-provided VIRTUS training

Salary

+ 48,000
