Summary: Coordinates, implements, evaluates, and documents the orientation of Behavioral Health department staff, ongoing educational programs for nursing and other clinical personnel, and evaluates evidence-based nursing practice. Revises program materials as needed to uphold best practice and accreditation standards. Influences the character of the professional nurse through role competence, professional growth, and facilitating lifelong learning activities in a variety of settings. Upholds the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or other Education-related field or obtains within 2 years of hire. Current State of Ohio RN license. Current NAPPI Instructor or within first year of hire. Certified as Mental Health First Aid Instructor or within first year of hire. Three years clinical experience in Behavioral Health nursing setting. Experience in adult education and curriculum development. Demonstrates strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, delegation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Certification in Nursing Professional Development strongly preferred or obtained within 3 years of hire. Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. Finger dexterity to operate PC keyboard.
