Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead automation programming efforts for Emerson ROC 800 & Omni EFM's as well as Allen Bradley PLCs in ladder logic.
  • Provide daily operational support for Facility HMI/PLC systems.
  • Provide field/operations support of instrumentation (flow, temperature, pressure), well controls (RTU and PLC), communications network (radio, cell modems)
  • Collaborate with Engineering to design, budget, and manage automation-related projects, and order parts, and materials to support new pipeline automation equipment installations.
  • Build, interpret, and verify project documents for installation and maintenance of the pipeline equipment.
  • Work with equipment vendors and service companies to ensure product and service consistency with service companies concerning procedures and techniques.
  • Create and compile technical documentation, including service manuals, equipment diagrams, installation procedures, commissioning procedures, equipment location documentation and configuration information, etc.
  • Work closely with field technicians and other support staff to troubleshoot data and communication issues between SCADA and field devices.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or Engineering a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience with Oil and Gas SCADA systems.
  • Excellent working knowledge of ROC and Omni Flow computers
  • Experience designing and constructing oil and gas facilities a plus
  • Willingness to travel to field locations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Experience with integrating various SCADA products such as Wonderware Intouch and Rockwell Automation Panelview+ product line.
  • Three years or more experience with Microsoft SQL databases and Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Minimum of three years directly related and progressively responsible SCADA, telemetric and Load Management system administration experience in an energy production/transportation environment, including programming and analysis.
  • Good working knowledge of pipeline operations.
