There are two roles within the procurement position and they will alternate by the week. One week will be the buyer role and the next week will be the receiver role. The buyer role is responsible for making sure that all orders are processed through Cardinal, Lawson, and third party vendors accurately and on time. The receiver role will receive in the Cardinal order and other others through Epic, Omnicell, and DSCSA software. What You Will Do: Performs complex, specialized pharmaceutical duties for the pharmacy department, working under direct supervision of Registered Pharmacists and Pharmacy Management. What You Will Do: All duties as described for Pharmacy Technicians I and II Assists with support activities and processes required to dispense high risk/high expense medications (i.e. Oncology) Organizes procurement of medications and supplies for the pharmacy May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department, as needed Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Ability to accurately interpret data, determine validity of results, and initiate corrective action immediately Thorough appreciation of pharmacy department’s role within the organization and interconnectivity Oversight of operations on daily basis with ongoing communication to leadership Assigns and evaluates work activities Makes recommendations for workflow improvements Provides training for Pharmacy Technicians I and II as needed Advanced projects assigned by leadership Knowledge of and ability to prepare, release and distribute drugs and utilize the drug distribution system to ensure the safety, accuracy and quality of supplied products.
