POSITION:
Senior Buyer
LOCATION:
Jupiter, FL.
STATUS:
Salary Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for purchasing Inventory and Non-Inventory commodities to support Manufacturing, Engineering, and R&D Operations. Requires judgement, ingenuity, critical thinking, and adherence to policies and procedures. Also coordinates on-time delivery of goods, manages projects, analyzes data, works in a team environment, and meets deadlines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as reference point for supply chain topics.
Collaborate on strategic sourcing projects.
Be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
Utilize SAP for procurement.
Establish sources of supply, maintain vendor lists, and process procurement documentation.
Identify new suppliers to reduce costs and increase quality.
Manage inventory levels using lean manufacturing techniques.
Perform various tasks including staff meetings, vendor visitations, and preparation of documents.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
Completion of EHS assigned regulatory training
Skills/Experience:
5+ years of manufacturing or production buying experience
7+ years of procurement experience
2+ years of SAP experience
Experience in Power Generation field preferred
Strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, and IT proficiency
