The Intake Specialist plays an integral role in our patient’s healthcare journey. They are the first point of contact for our patients and help set the tone for their care experience. They work seamlessly with our physicians to make sure that every patient has access to the highest quality of care, regardless of location, socioeconomic status, or technological literacy.

How you contribute to our mission:

Bring an unrelenting desire to deliver excellent customer service with every patient interaction.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain the onboarding process and ensure patients are successfully connected to our telehealth platform.

Accurately collect and input patient demographic information, insurance details, and other relevant data into electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Verify and update patient information to maintain the accuracy and completeness of the patient’s medical records.

Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to complete onboarding workflows and address any patient concerns or special requirements.

Educate patients on how to access our patient portal and other technology tools to enhance their MD Ally experience.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information.

Communicate effectively with patients and/or their family members to enable them to successfully navigate in-network and community resources identified within their after-visit summary (AVS) care plans.

Recognize and escalate complex issues to the appropriate personnel for resolution when necessary.

What you bring to the team:

Required 3-5 years experience as a medical receptionist, healthcare call center representative, 911 dispatcher or similar

Additional certificate or degree in healthcare administration preferred.

Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team and collaborate with other administrative and clinical staff.

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Excellent customer service skills to create a positive experience for patients and their families.

Ability to handle inquiries, complaints, and difficult situations with professionalism and empathy.

Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to navigate, collect and input patient information accurately into various software applications.

Familiarity with basic medical and insurance terminology to understand and accurately document patient information.

Sensitivity to diverse patient populations and the ability to interact respectfully with individuals from various backgrounds.

Highly motivated self-starter with a strong attention to detail and innate drive to achieve or surpass organizational KPIs and goals.

Willingness and ability to adapt to changes in process, technology, or responsibilities within the startup landscape.

Must be able to work nights

Must be located in one of the following states: Florida, Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah or Washington.
