POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Director of Advancement is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing the school’s development, fundraising, communications, and marketing. The role of the Advancement Office is to continue to strengthen and enhance the future of Saints Peter & Paul School by cultivating meaningful involvement and financial support from the community in support of its strategic plans. The Director of Advancement is a member of the administrative team and will work closely with related committees of the School Board of Specified Jurisdiction. The Director of Advancement is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position that is hired by and reports to the Principals.  

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Create and implement an advancement program in accordance with the school’s mission and goals, including both short- and long-term fundraising initiatives.  
  2. Manage the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects

and donors to include alumni networks, families, philanthropists, corporations, foundations, and others.  

  1. Utilize best practices in annual giving, major donor cultivation, and planned giving program to meet fundraising goals as established by the school board
  2. Working with the Board Development Committee, develop and execute donor acknowledgement and recognition opportunities, including corporate giving, memorials, matching gifts, scholarships, and financial aid.  
  3. Prepare 2 Sabre Spirit newsletters each year, 1 on advancement efforts and 1 on school programs, oversee the management of all marketing publications and communications, including the school’s webpage and social media posts.
  4. Represent the school at on- and off-campus events, driving external and internal marketing initiatives to attract and retain students, ensuring enrollment numbers support the school's growth and sustainability.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Director of Advancement should have the following attributes:  

  1. 3-5 years minimum experience in development, admissions, marketing, or sales
  2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field strongly preferred 
  3. Commitment to and ability to communicate a passion for Catholic education  
  4. Demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in developing and accomplishing organizational goals  
  5. Ability to build a team and effectively recruit and manage volunteers  
  6. Superior communications skills, ability to conceptualize and execute strategic plan, the ability to interact confidently and effectively  
  7. Expert in Microsoft Office, Google, data management, and advancement software  
  8. Experience in Catholic, private or non-profit environment preferred  
  9. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field/
  10. Understand and adhere to all confidentiality policies
