The Role:
We are seeking an experienced compliance analyst to support our professional software division In this role, you will work closely with our Legal and Sales teams to onboard TaxSlayers professional B2B customers (individual tax preparers, tax offices, and service bureaus). You will also help develop compliance policies and systems to serve our pro customers.
You must be able to collaborate effectively across the company to ensure that legal risks are understood, communicated, and mitigated effectively. You will be required to have seasoned judgment and a demonstrated ability to manage complex and novel issues, provide oversight and support to Sales functions, and collaborate with Product/Development teams to ensure that technical solutions are implemented. We are looking for someone who can develop and implement compliance policies and procedures from the ground up, conduct risk assessments and provide reporting, and advise stakeholders regarding legal and regulatory requirements and best practices.
The ideal candidate will have solid compliance experience within the financial services industry (tax-related business a plus). During the tax season, your primary focus will be working with new customers to ensure their onboarding documentation is complete, so excellent communication skills and an ability to perform administrative duties in an efficient, detail-oriented manner is a must.
Responsibilities include:
Assist Sales team in reviewing EFIN verification and other account-related questions and advising on issue resolutions
Manage companys due diligence program for verification of Electronic Filing Identification Number
Develop and maintain a robust compliance program for the professional B2B division (e.g., oversight of professional customersprofessional tax preparers, tax offices, and service bureaus)
Proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks
Develop strong internal controls to promote an effective compliance control environment
Analyze, prepare, and monitor metrics related to assess the performance of the pro compliance program
Monitor the regulatory landscape, such as pertinent privacy laws and regulations, to stay apprised of important developments and political changes that could inform internal policies and practices
Keep pace of demands of business by anticipating problems, offering appropriate solutions, and providing the necessary leadership to implement changes effectively
Requirements:
Minimum of five years within financial services industry (tax preparation or tax-related business experience a plus)
Background in law or complex issue resolution is a plus
Experience writing internal policies and procedures is a plus
Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to express technical concepts for general audiences
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and delegate when appropriate
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to meet attendance requirements (hybrid working in Charlotte or Augusta office)
Ability to read, write, and communicate on computer for several hours each day
