The Lead DevOps Engineer will work closely with development teams, stakeholders, and IT operations to ensure seamless integration, automation, and security of our applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design, implementation, and management of DevOps processes and tools to support continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and continuous monitoring. Develop and maintain automated build, test, and deployment pipelines. Implement and manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or ARM templates. Utilize Azure Cloud services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance application deployments. Design and implement robust cloud infrastructure solutions that meet security and compliance requirements. Collaborate with development teams to modernize existing .NET, Python, and R/Studio applications. Provide guidance on the development of new systems, ensuring they are built to integrate seamlessly with existing applications and the Azure ecosystem. Conduct thorough unit and integration testing to maintain high code quality and reliability. Integrate DevSecOps practices to embed security at every stage of the development lifecycle. Ensure all applications comply with NIH/HHS/NIST security requirements and undergo necessary security assessments. Develop and maintain security documentation and participate in security audits and reviews. Implement robust quality assurance testing, including automated test solutions and continuous monitoring. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure functionality and reliability of applications. Generate detailed test reports and address identified defects promptly. Lead and mentor a team of Application Engineers, providing technical guidance and support. Foster a collaborative environment with development teams, IT operations, and other stakeholders. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure iterative progress and continuous feedback. Develop comprehensive documentation for custom systems and processes. Provide training and support to users and developers to ensure effective utilization and maintenance of solutions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on cloud services and automation. Extensive experience with Azure Cloud services, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash. Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum framework. Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or ARM templates. Solid understanding of DevSecOps practices and security compliance standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert. Experience with Microsoft PowerPlatform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI. Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks. Experience with database management and administration in a cloud environment.
