This role involves determining best process management practices and standardizing them across local and corporate operations. Additionally, the Plant Manager will manage financial planning and requests to implement operational recommendations, and will be responsible for hiring, training, and supervising plant operators and administrative employees.

Essential Functions:

  • The Plant Manager directs all business unit activities to ensure safety and compliance, while maximizing profitability through expense control and revenue growth.
  • Full P&L responsibility for the plant.
  • Collaborates with Sales, Services, and Customer Solutions to grow volumes and maximize market pricing opportunities.
  • Maintains awareness of competitive market activities, pricing, and industry changes.
  • Focuses on productivity, metrics, cost control, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensures plant operations comply with all local, municipal, state, and federal regulations and safety requirements.
  • Ensures proper staffing to maximize productivity and capacity utilization while meeting customer and company requirements.
  • Operates the site safely and in compliance with regulations at all times.
  • Responsible for staffing and training new employees to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations.
  • Manages work shift scheduling to meet plant and customer needs.
  • Conducts regular safety meetings.
  • Manages the treatment process and space for incoming wastewater according to SOPs.
  • Oversees site discharge compliance with all procedures and regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with incoming profiles, manifests, and bills of lading, and facilitates vendor and customer interactions.
  • Provides excellent customer service at all levels.
  • Compiles and analyzes reports for decision-making, management reporting, and compliance.
  • Manages administrative staff to ensure proper billing, customer service, and accurate accounting.
  • Ensures timely plant maintenance within acceptable guidelines.
  • Monitors and reports site conditions to the Director of Treatment Operations.
  • Completes all required documents and reports.
  • Administers the site's expense budget within guidelines for cost-effective operations.
  • Participates in special projects and compiles special reports.
  • Adheres to all regulations, policies, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Communicates courteously and professionally with co-workers, management, clients, and vendors.
  • Coordinates with other departments within Liquid Environmental Solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Preferred).
  • Waste Stream or Wastewater training.
  • Three years of Waste Water or related experience (Required).

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience managing employees.
  • Budgetary, profit & loss responsibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience with Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook is a plus.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Working Environment:

  • Ability to work in hot or cold weather conditions.
  • General office environment.
  • Ability to work with strong odors.
  • Some light lifting and bending.
  • Periods of sitting.
