Responsibilities:

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for the daily operations on-site of all quality expectations reaching the Shawmut standard for the project which includes the product and the installation.

  • Implement all QA/QC policies and procedures onsite.
  • Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors.
  • Review the clients data sheets and construction standards and undertake relevant training as necessary.
  • Manage the implementation of the approved QA/QC Plan.
  • Perform site quality inspections with all site subcontractors and vendors to ensure conformance to the project specifications and Shawmut construction standards.
  • Perform all product and material receipt inspections. Confirm all materials received on site conform to the project specifications and contain Shawmut approvals as applicable prior to acceptance of delivery.
  • Control and track all nonconformance reports and undertake remedial action through resolution. Obtain final nonconformance closeout documentation and approvals.
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed for inclusion in final close out manuals, including distribution to Shawmut staff.
  • Coordinate with the site Superintendent on all quality issues.
  • Coordinate and chair the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the projects subcontractors QC personnel.
  • Coordinate all nondestructive testing with third party materials testing agency onsite.
  • Coordinate/communicate with the customers representative on all quality matters.
  • Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with applicable codes and Shawmut standards.
  • Participate in internal and external site audits.
  • Complete site quality control instructions and action remedial responses.
  • Complete and coordinate the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the customer.
  • Assure all technical documents relative to site quality control are up to date.
  • Coordinate and communicate with adjacent properties to assist in the coordination of the construction and adjacent tenant activities.


Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in the field: Asst Superintendent, QC Manager, Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or Construction Manager
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent military experience) in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Mechanical Engineering, etc.
  • Certifications in quality control such as Army Corp of Engineers
  • This position is in both our Boston office and North Haven office
