to view more details about this job. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking a Business Coordinator in the Central Office Materials Division. The incumbent will provide direct support to the professional services program through daily communication with contractors, suppliers, district personnel and contract administrators to ensure contract compliance and adherence to the VDOT Manual for Procurement and Management of Professional Services. The incumbent will also prepare and verify various fiscal, inventory, budget and records retention documents to ensure accuracy and fiscal accountability. This position is physically located in Sandston, VA. Minimum Qualifications Experience working with databases, spreadsheets, financial accounting and budgeting software and MS Office products to collect, enter, and organize data, analyze information, generate reports and documents. Skilled in quality customer service, budgeting, accounting, inventory monitoring and records retention. Considerable knowledge of procurement, solicitation of bids/quotes and contracting practices, compliance with specifications and procedures. Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, summarize, and apply State procurement laws and Agency policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with VDOT teammates, internal and external customers. Ability to organize, work independently, prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks, proactively solve problems, and make decisions in accordance with section management goals and guidance. Demonstrated ability to monitor contract execution, expenditures, and validate payments for completed services. Preferred Qualifications:

Virginia Contracting Associate (VCA) is highly preferred. Previous government procurement, contracting experience as a government employee, or supplier providing goods/services to local, state, or federal governments. Special Instructions:

Positions physically working within Central Office locations may be designated upon request and coordination among the respective District Engineer or Administrator and Chief. Assignments are updated annually. Not all designated employees are provided an emergency operations assignment. Once onboarded, this position may be eligible for telework opportunities; availability, hours, and duration of telework shall be approved as outlined in the Commonwealth telework policy.
