Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Loan Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing loan processing for Commercial and Construction loan closings. Reviews and processes construction draw requests. Provides customer service, communicates with third parties (attorneys, vendors etc.). They will also be responsible for lien perfections and lien terminations and document imaging. This position will work closely with Lenders, Credit Staff and Bank customers in addition to Loan Operations team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares loan documents for consumer and commercial loans and reviews these for completion and compliance with internal policies, procedures, and compliance with federal regulations. Works with lenders, borrowers, and loan assistant to ensure all required documentations, information, including title policy commitment, collateral have been collected for the loan file prior to closing.
  • Reviews internally prepared and attorney prepared loan documents.
  • Must be able to identify key information in all documentation being reviewed, as well as understand entity documents and identify principals and signers.
  • Review compliance with requirements and regulations of government guaranteed credit enhancement programs such as BIA, DOT, SBA, HUD and USDA, and complete documents related to these programs.
  • Make sure all government guaranty conditions are met and generate monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Orders, reviews, and analyzes title commitment including title exceptions, and prepares closing instructions.
  • Order appraisals, environmental reviews, and any other due diligence documentation
  • Reviews and processes construction draw requests.
  • Processes collateral lien perfection.
  • Reviews insurance certificates to ensure compliance with bank and government requirements.
  • Images documentation on timely basis.
  • Disburses loans, posts payments, reconciles general ledger, prepares, and reviews reports, responsible for board reporting.
  • Prepare for audits and examinations. Remediate audit and examination exceptions. Liaison to the external and internal auditors.
  • Trains co-workers, formulate, develop, and implement loan operations procedures and policies, ensure adequate internal controls measures. Review and interpretation of new regulations and updating the compliance program.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications:

2 years of college/university degree in business related fields preferred.

5 - 7+ years previous experience in commercial loan closings preferred, minimum 3 years.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications.

Knowledge of government guarantees preferred.

Advanced knowledge of commercial lending, laws, and documentation.

Must have ability to work independently, be flexible, multi-task and organize priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

Strong analytical skills, combined with sound judgment and decision-making abilities.

Excellent attention to detail.

Solid customer services and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
