The Aquatics Specialist coordinate aquatic programs and maintain pool facility, lifeguard and instruct aquatic programs.
Shift(s): Full Time, no nights and weekends.

Requirements
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
•Responsible and accountable for the oversight and coordination of all aquatic program activities
according to established standards, policies, and procedures
•Maintain and implement Aquatic Center safety according to infection control standards and
regulatory compliance
•Conduct regular safety and equipment inspection of all areas in department per established criteria
for ensuring safety and appearance, manage pool maintenance program and identify needs to
ensure all systems are working optimally
•Work with staff members in developing special programs and events as related to wellness. Market
Aquatic Center working closely with other staff to reach maximum number of resident and staff usage
•Utilize preventative lifeguarding skills to assure a safe, quality environment for pool use.
•Assist in land-based wellness programming as needed
•Additional duties as assigned
EQUIPMENT:
•Computer, including Microsoft Office Suite
•General office equipment
•Pool lift and vacuums
•Chemical feeders
•Pool maintenance and safety equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Considerable amount of sitting, bending, standing, and walking.
•Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance, 26+ with manual or mechanical assistance
REQUIREDKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
•Excellent communication skills
•Patience and compassion for all internal and external customer groups
•Superior listening skills
•Ability to handle interruptionsthroughout the day and be able to prioritize workload
•Strong interpersonal skills, including relationship building with all customers
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
•Experience providing aquatic exercise for geriatric population
•Strong knowledge base of exercise and nutrition

JOB DESCRIPTION
Aquatics Specialist
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor Degree in health related field or combination education and experience to fulfill requirements of
position
•Current First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard training certification
•Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) certification, or equivalent certification
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
•Previous experience working with/helping elderly people
•At least one year experience in aquatic exercise and pool maintenance
