Dev Technology requires a Business Operations Specialist to serve on the leadership team of a large, complex, software delivery program supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The successful candidate will demonstrate professional maturity in his/her approach to communications and relationship building, enjoy supporting the operational needs of a software development team, and will be organized and detail-oriented. Candidate should also thrive in an environment which requires the flexibility in day-to-day activities required to effectively respond to client-driven priorities. This is a great position for someone who wants to learn more about how a large government program operates, and to grow with the program. The position is remote, YOU MUST BE LOCATED IN THE DC/NORTHERN VIRGINIA AREA with occasional travel to Ashburn, VA and Lorton, VA client sites (~2 -3 days/month).

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance (CBP Final)

What You'll Be Doing: 

  • Facilitate government security clearance processes
  • Onboard/offboard team members - provide training, provision/deprovision system accesses, and assign/recover program assets
  • Review and approve timecards for a very large team; distribute task assignments to program personnel
  • Collaborate with program financial and vendor management personnel to prepare client/internal management status reporting and complete ad hoc client deliverables
  • Support information technology needs of the team – coordinate laptop repair/replacements, request assignment of non-standard workplace efficiency tools
  • Oversee team compliance with mandatory training requirements
  • Contribute to content in Program collaboration tools such as Confluence
  • Identify and implement improvements to operational, financial and resource management procedures and tools

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of applicable work experience, such as in a project analyst, business operations or administrative role
  • Prior experience working in an information technology project environment
  • Experience performing financial analysis or financial support tasks
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365, with particular emphasis on Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate professionally with all levels of client, technical and back-office personnel verbally and in writing
  • Excellent relationship building capability – ability to apply logical thinking and diplomacy to resolve complex issues with a mutually beneficial result
  • Ability to see the big picture, balanced with a desire to apply organizational skills and attention to detail in order to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in the Reston, VA (company HQ) office, Ashburn, VA (client site) and Lorton, VA (client site) as required, potentially on short notice

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity working within the government contracting environment – experience with federal government clients, experience with associated accounting and finance systems such as Unanet
  • Familiarity with project management collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
