Aquatic Fitness Instructor- Sussex Location

Essential Functions:

  • Instructs classes in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly.
  • Keep constant visual contact with all program participants, scan constantly and use equipment
  • safely as it was intended for use.
  • Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Identify potential volunteers.
  • Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.
  • Maintains class rosters and take attendance
  • Evaluate each student and record their progress each class.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum age 18 years of age
  • Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification, within the first 12 months of employment must receive Water Fitness Instructor certification or equivalent.
  • Must be able to demonstrate water fitness instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
  • Must be able to think in the abstract, solve problems, make decisions, instruct and evaluate programs.
Preferred Qualification:
  • Multi-Lingual
