TIAG is now hiring a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) to join our team supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) and the United States Coast Guard (USCG).

This is a surge opportunity, estimated 1-3 weeks of on-site work in the Portmouth, Virginia area

For this program TIAG will provide a range of cyber security, Information Technology (IT) engineering services support, certification and accreditation (C&A), and cyber operations support including support for life-cycle management policy, guidance, oversight, and direction for fixed and mobile command, control, and communications-computer systems, to include technology insertion, policy development, operation and maintenance engineering support, and C&A implementation, standards provisioning, architectures, integration, operations policy, and procedures for communications and computer systems with specialized technical skills and subject matter expertise.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting Validation and Risk Assessment (RA) activities in support of the USCG customer (Validation Security Assessment Testing, System Risk Documentation, System Audits, Security Hardware and Software Testing)
  • The RMF certified NQV will perform Validation Security Assessment testing at the system level, and will assess and document risks in accordance with DoD and USCG policy and guidance
  • Responsible for creating and providing all RMF appropriate artifacts and documentation necessary to plan and execute a thorough test of systems, document the system risks and report on the identified risks as necessary
  • The NQV will actively work with the designated ISSM to provide final Security Assessment support and guidance
  • Required to conduct auditing of RMF artifacts to ensure proper adherence to DoD instruction, USCG requirements, and NIST Special Publication 800 series standards and industry best practices
  • Responsible for enhancing the overall quality of RMF packages for the purpose of receiving an ATO from the USCG Authorizing Official (AO)
  • Required to engage and consult with the system ISSE, ISSM, and program support staff at RMF Step 4
  • Exercises strong customer service and excellent communication skills in a fast paced environment
Required Experience:
  • DoD Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering or similar preferred
  • An Information Assurance certification in compliance with DoD 8570 (e.g. Security+) (IAT Level II) is required
  • 8 years of experience with the development, review, and approval of DoD/DISA RMF packages for software systems and enclaves; Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) experience desired
  • Appointed as a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) is beneficial
  • Experience at independently performing the NQV activities
  • Experience with Control Systems is required
  • Experience with DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Services (eMASS)
  • Experience with IA / INFOSEC concepts and requirements: Firewall Policy, Ports & Protocols, Cybersecurity, Cybersafe, DoD A&A processes and standards etc.
  • Experience with the Defense Information Systems Agency published Security Technical Information Guidance (STIG) requirements and compliance process
  • Ability to manage time well to meet assigned milestones
