Business Operations Specialist in the Learning Health Systems Collaborative and LIFT Lab within The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in The Ohio State Universitys College of Medicine. Job Description:

The Business Operations Specialist in the LIFT Lab and Learning Health Systems will function as a planning and operations leader for quality and outcomes improvement efforts that cut across the education, research, and clinical domains for the School of Health and Rehabilitation and College of Medicine. This position entails leading and facilitating operational implementation, project management, budget management, reporting and analysis efforts to inform strategic planning and strategic plan execution of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and research and education efforts related to healthcare delivery locally, regionally, and nationally. Additional responsibilities will include regular management of relationships within the organization, with peer institutions, across community organizations, and between the organization and sponsors/funders. The role may also support discussions and tasks that will help shape policy as they relate to the LIFT Lab and Learning Health Systems Collaborative projects. The successful candidate will need to be able to manage and support the coordination of complex projects and teams that span education, research, clinical, and community partners as well as serve as a direct manager for 1-2 staff members and 3-4 student research assistants and volunteers with a variety of diverse skills and backgrounds.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree required with desired masters degree in public health or a related field.A minimum of at least 1 year of experience in project management in research, education, and/or clinical quality improvement efforts is required. Experience working with state funded agencies (e.g., Ohio Department of Medicaid, Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation) is required with specialized knowledge in how the funding cycles and grant funded operations and activities are managed for rapid implementation and quality improvement efforts and reporting. The successful candidate must have the ability to plan and operationalize on grant funded work, and ability to navigate multiple complex dynamics and participate in leadership committees and forums to represent elements of health system, community, research and education activities and advocate for dissemination, implementation and policy change for key forums (e.g., Institute for Healthcare Improvement). Desired applicants will have evidence of leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a multidisciplinary team, demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and exhibit excellent interpersonal skills. Experience and proficiency in using quality improvement tracking tools and analysis strategies are desired. Experience in program implementation, planning and administration required; experience in curriculum and organizational assessment and evaluation desired; computer literacy with demonstrated with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) desired. Previous experience in grant writing/implementation and/or fundraising preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
