Business Development Representative I

to join the

ArcBest

team. The

Business Development Representative

is an experienced sales professional that builds their own portfolio of mid-market sized customers across North America, with the opportunity to solicit any region and/or vertical. Our current customers range from different verticals, including but not limited to, food and beverage, consumer packaged goods, construction, and retail. The

Business Development Representative

uses their sales skills to prospect customers, sell ArcBest transportation services, and develop relationships with accounts. This position is the main point of contact for customer interactions and works cross-functionally with the modal operations and carrier sales departments.

Your contribution may include: Research new leads by utilizing customer databases and customer relationship management software. Prospect mid-market sized customers through cold calling and email communication. Uncover customer needs while successfully positioning all ArcBest services, including but not limited to, truckload, less-than-truckload, and managed transportation. Leverage multi-modal solutions to grow customer footprint across the ArcBest enterprise. Act as a consultant to customers to build and maintain customer relationships. Proactively identify issues and resolve problems to uphold our commitment to service. Drive department initiatives and mentor teammates. Collaborate cross-functionally with carrier sales, yield management, and modal operations departments including account management. Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a

Business Development Representative I , you will be a member of the

ArcBest Sales

team. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload.

Ability to negotiate and reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all stakeholders. Ability to multi-task with a high attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet performance metrics. Ability to align growth initiatives with industry-leading service levels. Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills. Excellent time management skills to prioritize and maximize workload. Strong listening skills and excellent communication, both written and verbal, with an ability to effectively connect and engage with customers.
