Job DescriptionThe Value Stream Manager is responsible for the entire manufacturing process and output of the department. Daily responsibility is focused on, but not limited to, safety, quality, production processes, leadership development, management of personnel, monthly metrics, culture, and company strategic goals. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Value Stream Manager plans and supervises manufacturing activities about the assembly of components from internal and external vendors to meet the quality standards and daily attainment of completed units for Sales. The Value Stream Manager will oversee roughly 60 to 70 team members.Key Responsibilities:Managing the entire boat building process from mold maintenance to shipment readyDrive culture, daily production, safety, and employee-related issuesResponsible for manufacturing quality products built to customer expectationsOptimizing employee production and material efficiency through continuous improvementResponsible for onboarding, training, employee development, and verifying employee readinessMaintaining high-quality standards through on-the-floor interaction with employees to ensure quality and accuracy in each step of the production processWorking closely with internal groups and departments, including quality, design, engineering, materials, sales, and customer service, to troubleshoot problem areas and confirm production needs are metProviding daily direction, coaching, and leadership to crew supervisors/leads to ensure department alignment with operational strategies and cultureReviewing and compiling monthly key performance indicatorsMaintaining and promoting a safe work environment by ensuring employees are following safety protocols consistent with company policies and proceduresPlaying a key role in the implementation of new processes, equipment, and productsLeding the advancement and implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives in the with customers, co-workers, and managementAbility to handle emergencies calmlyQualifications:QualificationsKnowledge, Education, and or Experience required :Four (4) year post-secondary education or courses with an operations management, engineering, or manufacturing focusMinimum of 5-8 years of management experience in a medium to fast-paced manufacturing/operations environmentMust know raw materials, production processes, QC, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of productsStrong lean manufacturing experience, especially in continuous improvement, elimination of waste, 5S, Kaizen events, and visual managementAble to control the operation of equipment and conduct inspections of products and processes to evaluate the qualityAble to plan, direct and delegate work to others, assess performance, and make improvements or take corrective actionExcellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to work with minimum direction and coordinate multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong leadership skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships with both internal and external customersMust have a team-oriented mindset and be able to communicate in front of groups of employees and peersStrong computer skills in analyzing, organizing, and presenting data and information using Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint)Fluent in the English language with strong written and verbal communication skillsValid drivers license and ability to travel occasionallyMust be a licensed driver with a good driving record (subject to MVR)Physical Requirements:Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature
