Employees of this class perform assigned responsibilities independently following established routines; however, specific instructions are received on unusual jobs. Work also involves the frequent moving or lifting of heavy furniture and equipment. Work is inspected in process or upon completion for adherence to instructions and work standards.Frequent:Sweep, vacuum, wax, mop and buff floors plus dust and clean offices, classrooms, cafeteria, gym, and other rooms.Collect and remove trashWash walls and windowsClean restrooms and replenish supplies; unclog sink and toilets and report need for more major repairsPerform minor maintenance on the building, change light bulbs, tubes, and ballasts; repair lockers, doors, windows and fixtures; paint interior and exterior of buildingMove furniture and equipment, set up classroom and gym, and take down and store equipmentMaintain building grounds; remove snow and ice from walkways, clear leaves and trash from grounds, and cut and trim grassUnlock and lock building according to established policies and schedulesCheck and replace filters, and may monitor and adjust heating and ventilation equipmentPickup and deliver supplies as neededMay direct and supervise the work of the Elementary Building Custodian IAbility to lift and carry approximately 55 lbsPerform related work as requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: NEVER (0%)OCCASIONAL (1-32%)FREQUENT (33-66%)CONSTANT (67%+)A.
