The manager will partner with the Associate Director of Decarbonization to help establish and lead the measurement and reduction of Clorox’s Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions. The manager will play a key role in ensuring the integration of environmental data in procurement decision-making and will advance our supplier engagement program focused on driving reductions in Scope 3 emissions. In this role, you will: Lead the implementation of Clorox’s Scope 3 science-based target to reduce GHG emissions by 25% by 2030 and the Scope 3 elements of our Net Zero by 2050 target. Implement an industry-leading supplier climate program that reduces GHG emissions across Clorox’s value chain. Ensure integration of Scope 3 into procurement decision-making, supporting the company’s progress toward Net Zero. Develop and refine emission tracking system to monitor and optimize scope 3 delivery across the value chain. Lead Clorox’s CDP supplier program and other potential supplier engagement programs. Develop and maintain a scope 3 scorecard designed to keep leadership up to date on progress. Keep Clorox leadership up to date with Scope 3 progress, including highlighting areas of concern/challenges when applicable. Engage in supplier scorecard assessments for sustainability-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Attend annual/quarterly business review meetings and follow up on sustainability action items with suppliers. Provide guidance and lead efforts to achieve sustainability KPIs in collaboration with suppliers. Collaborate closely with procurement category managers to devise sustainable sourcing strategies. Lead supplier outreach programs to foster collaboration, improve performance, and drive sustainability initiatives. Serve as a key partner to the Global ESG and Sustainability team to ensure alignment of objectives, priorities, and deliverables with Clorox’s global ESG strategy. Support the business units in the development of relevant scope 3 strategies and roadmaps. Support multi-category and/or multi-supplier sustainability collaboration. Design and organize appropriate training with internal stakeholders in line with Clorox’s Scope 3 targets and reduction strategy. Provide expertise on business-critical topics and impact areas related to supply chain sustainability. Contribute to company sustainability surveys and assessments assigned by customers and investors including S&P, CDP, Sustainalytics, MSCI, and others. Become the company’s external-facing Scope 3 SME. Monitor and analyze emerging legislation, advocacy trends, competitor landscape and industry trends. Conduct benchmarking and researching through desk-based research and being involved in networking forums and coalitions to stay informed on Scope 3 and related sustainability insights, including consumer, competitive, macroeconomic, and geopolitical trends. What we look for: 7+ years of relevant experience in sustainability, responsible sourcing, and/or supply chain management Must have direct experience in managing scope 3 programs. Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s in a relevant field preferred. CPG industry experience is highly preferred Concrete understanding of reporting frameworks such as the GHG protocol, SBTi, CDP, and others. Proven ability to interact effectively and quickly establish credibility with diverse stakeholders. Ability to network, influence, and utilize internal and external resources. Background in Procurement and transformative experience Expertise in various ESG topics with strong understanding in driving change. Global experience with an understanding of international landscapes and perspectives. Proven record of leading cross-functional teams and driving consensus.
