Job DescriptionPRIMARY DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares design specifications, analyses and recommendation for presentation and approval Has technical responsibility for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved product and/or processesInvestigates solution to product and/or process problems Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects Coordinates the efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technical, and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects Conducts independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component or process specifications and requirements Provides recommendations and assign work to technical drawing staffRequirementsMINIMUM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:Secret Clearance Bachelor's Degree in a Mechanical Engineering disciplineFive years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer investigating solutions to and/or process issuesExperience in consolidating results of mechanical design elementsExperience coordinating drafting and design effortsMust be able to conduct independent technical investigations to design or modify materials, components or process specificationsDemonstrated creative, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skillsAbility to solve difficult technical problems with minimal oversight, established directions, or guidanceCollaborative teamwork skills interacting across multiple disciplines including other systems engineers, software developers, integration teams, quality assurance, production personnel, and program managersHave developed communication skills and the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely, employing technical writing techniquesDESIRED SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:Active Top-Secret ClearanceMaster's Degree in Mechanical EngineeringFamiliarity with Research and Development (R D) Pipelines (identification, evaluation, integration, testing)Experience researching, identifying, and transitioning innovative technologiesFamiliarity with System Requirements and Key Performance Points AnalysisExperience providing transition support for innovative systems and technologyExperience in Root Cause Analysis or Corrective AnalysisSRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVELABOUT USScientific Research Corporation is an advanced information technology and engineering company that provides innovative products and services to government and private industry, as well as independent institutions.
