Position Summary: The Pharmacist Application Analyst I works under the direction of the senior team members to design, build and test pharmacy systems. The Analyst will obtain Designated Application Certification. The Analyst learns and applies workflow analysis, design, and build sessions with Subject Matter Experts (physicians, nursing, and other ancillary services personnel) and instructional designers. The Analyst learns to perform critical advisory work in the development and implementation of pharmacy related functionality (i.e. medication configuration, decision support, etc.); identifies and mitigates all issues that arise during the project for their application(s); and are familiar with policies, procedures and constraints of pharmacy workflows. They learn to complete in depth and precise discovery and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality to deliver on expected outcomes. They learn how to troubleshoot problems and questions from end users during validation, training, go-live, and optimization periods. Successful candidates enjoy helping other users learn and adopt usage of the application. They will learn to work closely with internal applications, system vendors, consultants, and technical services to ensure product development, implementation, and enhancements that meet user specifications. Position Responsibilities: Key Areas of Responsibility · Obtains Designated Application Certification within defined timeframe. Applies advanced pharmacy practice standards to all aspects of job functions. · Works towards mastery knowledge of core application build and interdisciplinary team build. Documents and maintains all required system design, build, testing; configures system accordingly. · Working with senior analysts, learns how to anticipate and provide solutions to complex problems with the necessary priorities. Works with senior analysts to present solutions to the project and to operational leaders within respective team/area. · Working with senior analysts, learns how to build clinical order sets and test new clinical content functionality. · Working with senior analysts, learns how to develop and document internal policies and procedures that will be used in conjunction with the Willow application. · Actively participates in weekly team meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications and updates. · Builds effective relationships with clinical and business partners through all the phases of training. · Works with senior analysts to manage testing scripts and materials; performs unit, system and integrated testing tasks. · Engages the clinical and business communities to ensure their voices are heard, their needs are met, and they are kept informed of project progress. · Works with senior analysts to collaborate with vendor resources; plays an active role in managing the technical build, testing, and migration of the system. · Works with senior analysts to collaborate with Project Managers and senior leadership to create and maintain work plans, issues list, decision lists, risks and status reports. · Works with senior analysts to become familiar with treatment algorithms and clinical “rules” into clinical system. · Works with senior analysts to become familiar with in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the use of respective system. · Works with senior analysts to assess strategic decisions as well as the impact strategies aligned with decisions on workflows and system’s functionality. Working Relationships: This Job Reports To (Job Title): Willow- Team LeadQualifications Education · Minimum: Graduate from an accredited School of Pharmacy · Bachelor of Pharmacy · Preferred: Graduate of Pharmacy Residency Program is preferred Experience · Minimum: Minimum 3 year equivalent or similar experience · Preferred: Minimum 3 year equivalent or similar experience within acute care / ambulatory health care system is preferred Licensure, Certification, Registration · Current license as a Registered Pharmacist in CT- unrestricted Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements · Excellent Knowledge of computer applications/systems ·• Self-motivated ·• Experience and skilled with spreadsheets and ability to use Microsoft Excel; strong attention to detail ·• Demonstrates excellent organizational and problem-solving skills ·• Ability to prioritize and coordinate with others to meet team goals ·• Exemplary customer service and communication skills [written, verbal and listening] ·• Ability to articulate complex business and technical information in an effective manner. · Ability to earn Epic Willow certification within 3 months of hire.
