About the position:

Shady Hill School is seeking a Director of Academic Technology. This is an in-person, full-time, 12 month position. The Director of Academic Technology supports faculty and academic staff with the integration of technology in their classroom and in their professional development. The Director of Academic Technology provides leadership to faculty and students in the use of technology as a tool for exploration, creativity and productivity in ways that promote emotional, social and physical wellness. Specific Responsibilities: Work with faculty and academic staff Mentor teachers in the use of technology to support curriculum, including developing materials and providing direct instruction Provide leadership and teaching in the incorporation of media literacy, technology safety and digital citizenship for both individual classroom and faculty-wide community learning (professional development) Stay current on new products and developments in the field of educational technology Work with students and families Each Fall, oversee roll out of equipment to students including policy review and management and introducing students to using technology In collaboration with Division Heads, develop education resources and programming for student use of technology Serve as Technology Department point of contact for parent inquiries and requests Work with the Technology Department Collaborate on the schedule for ongoing OS and iOS updates to student and faculty devices Manage and oversee academic software systems including account set-up, password support, user rights management, and website access for faculty and students Collaborate with other members of the technology staff on hardware and application rollouts and other projects as needed Other duties as assigned The Director of Academic Technology will also share in community responsibilities such as serving on academic committees and supervising students during recess, lunch, arrival and dismissal. As this position supports faculty and academic staff, attendance at opening and closing meetings (late-August and mid-June) and Wednesday afternoon faculty meetings are required. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in educational technology related field required, Masters degree preferred Minimum 3 years teaching experience in a classroom setting required Minimum 3 years experience providing educational technology training and support preferred Minimum 3 years experience in use, maintenance and support of recent-releases of MacOS and iOS required Experience with the deployment, use and oversight of classroom and assembly-space AV technologies preferred Experience with device management through a mobile device management system (ex. JAMF) preferred Experience overseeing shared drive permissions (ex. Google), curriculum map software (ex. ATLAS), learning management systems (ex. Google Classroom), and remote learning software (ex. Zoom, Swivl) preferred Effective, timely and professional communication skills How to apply:
