A sound benefits package is a plus but only if our clients and their employees know and understand what's available to them. OneDigital's Communications Team provides engaging year-round communications to help our clients employees not only understand their benefits but also appreciate them.

The Benefits Communication Specialist, based out of Charlotte, NC, is responsible for supporting the development and execution of effective communication strategies by creating marketing pieces, presentations, media campaigns etc. to educate our clients' employees on their benefit plans. The specialist will also educate and train internal teams throughout the Carolinas about our services and products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Supports the Carolinas Communications Team as they create and implement creative communications tools for client open enrollment and new hire education
  • Assists team with expanding library of universal templates, videos, and other tools accessible to all account teams and clients
  • Works directly with assigned OneDigital clients and account teams to develop year-round multi-channel customized benefits communication campaigns
  • Establish and lead phone calls with clients to understand their culture/brand and review campaign materials
  • Oversees implementation of creative new hire, open enrollment, and seasonal benefit campaigns
  • Reviews, responds, and maintains list of all requests they are responsible for
  • Researches, evaluates, and implements new technology tools to provide better communications to clients
  • Maintains relationships with new and existing vendor partners
  • Educates and trains internal account team members about new tools and services
  • Showcases Communication Department services when participating in prospect and new client calls
  • Trains and delegates administrative work to Benefits Coordinator
  • Trains, reviews, and oversees existing and new projects assigned to Benefits Coordinator
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

Education, Training and Experience:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
  • Proficient in InDesign, preferred
  • Proficient in Brainshark and/or similar platform, preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree, and 2-5 years of professional experience, communications, PR, or related field;
  • Proven track record in customer service;
  • Experience with Employee Benefits preferred.
  • Experience with reporting and evaluating communication effectiveness;


Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company's performance.
