Description: Controls Design Engineer
Control System Design (60%)
  • - Design, develop, and implement electrical control systems for new and existing equipment
  • - Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software

Programming and Software Development (20%)
  • - Develop and program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and other control devices

Project Management

MUST HAVE:
  • - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • - 3+ years of Controls Engineering experience (outside of schooling)
  • - Proven experience in designing and developing electrical control systems
  • - Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley or Siemens) and HMI development; ability to program from scratch
  • - Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel design
  • - Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, IEC).
  • - Strong communication and interpersonal skills both in person and over the phone; ability to work directly with customers
  • - Willingness to travel for on-site commissioning and support as required (up to 20% of the year)
  • - Experience with motion control and industrial networks (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
  • - Knowledge of CAD software for electrical design (AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical)

  • - Experience working with an OEM or systems integrator
  • - Experience with fluid power systems (hydraulic and pneumatic)
