Responsibilities

The Role:

The Trade & Promotions Manager will work intricately with all Field Sales Teams & Channels, as well as internal business partners, especially Sales Finance & IT.They will be responsible for managing our Trade & Promotions system (TPM), to ensure that all elements of customer business plans are effectively & accurately captured (price changes, new items, trade promotions, etc.). This position will be the single source/contact for Field Sales related to any inputs & outputs of the TPM system.They will be viewed as the knowledge expert on the system and how best to capture, analyze and deliver data/information from the system.

If you're based in the greater Bay Area, you'll walk into our Emeryville office each Tuesday morning and start the in-person portion of our hybrid work week at our weekly all-company meeting and find close to 200 of your colleagues sitting on sofas, beanbag chairs, or the floor excitedly talking through the week ahead and watching a newer teammate tell their personal life and career journey followed by a quick update on any hot topics that might be relevant to the week ahead.

We are a dynamic, HYBRID workplace so every employee who lives within 100 miles of our offices is expected to come in each TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY. We aligned on those two common days way back in 2021 to be intentional about connecting in person for things like innovation, impromptu collaboration, having respectful challenges to get to better decisions, leadership role-modeling, and culture building. Great work cultures are built on stories about what great looks like in practice, and great stories on Zoom meetings are few and far between.The expected pay scale for this role is $130k to $140k, which may vary based on relevant experience, qualifications, geographic area (if applicable), and internal equity for the role.

Our modern 50,000 sq. foot headquarters straddles the border of the cities of Emeryville, Oakland, and Berkeley, California with free onsite parking and many transportation options.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Trade System Management: 60% of TIME
  • TPM system Management, Enhancement, and Ownership
  • Collaborate with 3rd party system owner, in-house system manager/IT Team, to effectively launch and manage any changes to sales deliverables and inputs (pricing, promotions, forecast volume, etc.)
  • Daily technical operation of the Sales department's TPM systems, including database administration and maintenance as well as developing and producing reports utilized in sales forecasting and account management.
  • Assures consistency of inputs for promotions & trade spend across all of Field Sales
  • Create, prepare, and oversee preparation of reports and analyses that measure sales performance and results used for Sales Forecasting, Demand Planning, A/R Reconciliations
  • Develop processes and tools for collecting and utilizing data to help communicate pertinent information to cross-functional partners.
  • Compiles data; prepare and distribute reports; and analyze results.
Account Planning/Customer P&L Management: 40% of TIME
  • Coordinate with Sales finance, Marketing Leads, and Sales Leadership to determine effective outputs/reporting/analytical tools from TPM system.
  • Analyze, track and report changes to Gross Sales, Trade Rates, Net Pricing, Net Sales, etc. highlighted from TPM system.
  • Train and educate Field Sales on Best Practices regarding usage and management of TPM system, ensuring consistent pull-through across the sales organization.
  • Collaborates and communicates with internal teams and field sales to ensure data integrity and quality to forecast key businesses and insure proper inventory levels.
  • Monitor mission critical data processing alerts and reports, research discrepancies, and resolve exceptions.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience with Trade Promotion (TPM) systems
  • 7+ years of experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) Industry within Trade Marketing, Sales Strategy, SRM (Strategic Revenue Management) and/or Financial Planning & Analytics
Skills:
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced pricing analytics & ability to draw insights and make business recommendations.
  • Team oriented with great ability to build relationships and work cross-functionally.
  • Blue Planner experience is a plus.
