Raleigh, United States Cary Estate Planning Full time
Description

Estate Administration and Probate Lawyer (NC License Required)

A rapidly expanding estate planning and probate firm with offices in Cary, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest is seeking to add a motivated, team-oriented Lawyer to make an immediate impact on day one. This is a hybrid-flexible position.

We are looking for an Estate Administration and Probate Attorney who has established probate experience, and who is looking for mentorship and career advancement in a truly enjoyable work environment. Demonstrated experience in estate administration is required.

We are looking for an attorney with demonstrated client consultation experience and the ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of different personality types, on both good and bad days. If you used to wait tables, bartend, work in retail, or work in a customer service-oriented job and are now a practicing attorney, this could be a great opportunity for you. This position is expected to conduct 10-20 client consultations each week.

A family-focused firm with a flexible work environment, Cary Estate Planning offers a competitive salary and compensation package with incentives for accomplishing your key performance indicators (KPIs). We are a team-oriented firm with a focus on providing client-centered, estate administration services for individuals and families in the Wake County area, and throughout the State of North Carolina. We are a growth-minded firm and have short-term plans to expand our office footprint statewide.

We put the client experience and relationship with our firm first, above all else, and we're looking for an attorney who enjoys:
  • Working directly with clients over the phone/video to help them through the probate process
  • Managing legal workflows as established by the firm's policies and procedures
  • Working as part of a team performing the actions within your job description and responsibilities, but also assisting other team members when needed
  • Legal technology, innovation, and process development/improvement
  • Pushing against the status quo, not just doing things the way they've "always been done"
  • Always doing the right thing for clients, no matter what
  • Accomplishing clear performance expectations
  • Open and transparent feedback and communication, and being rewarded for exceeding expectations
  • A flexible and enjoyable working environment where the employee experience isn't just an afterthought
Compensation for the ideal candidate will include:
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Bonus structure and quarterly bonus expectation
  • 401k Plan with a 3% employer match
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Health Insurance (Employee premium paid 100%)
  • Dental and Vision Insurance (Employee premium paid 100%)
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance (Employee premium paid 100%)
  • Life insurance benefit (Employee premium paid 100%)
  • Professional liability insurance, CLE, licensing, and association membership (100% paid for)

Responsibilities

•Providing a professional and helpful experience for our clients
•Helping to guide potential new clients through estate administration options that will be in their best interests
•Being an advisor, using a true fiduciary, honest approach to estate administration
•Contributing to the success of the team even if it means going outside of your job description
•Keeping unneeded drama out of the office and contributing to our solid team culture
•Helping to expand the firm's presence throughout the Triangle and the State of North Carolina

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience working in firms that practice estate planning and probate as the primary or only practice area(s), meeting with clients, involvement in consultation meetings, and experience drafting and reviewing estate pleadings.

The ideal candidate will be driven to exceed expectations and contribute to the development of the firm in a meaningful way and will have the following qualifications:
•Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina (ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED) - do not apply unless you have already taken and passed the North Carolina Bar Exam or have been admitted through reciprocal admission
•At least 1 year of experience working with estate administration and probate matters at a law firm that focuses on estate planning and probate
•High emotional intelligence
•Tech-Savvy - a digital native, comfortable with software and automation tools
•Experience with, and comfort with, one-on-one consultation meetings with clients on your own
