NiS is in search of a candidate to fulfill our GIS/Geotechnical Engineer/Developer position in Little Rock, Arkansas. The GIS/Geotechnical Engineer/Developer has the opportunity to work on exciting projects while participating in a variety of office and field tasks related to planning, evaluating, designing, and implementing the geotechnical aspects of environmental remedies. The GIS/Geotechnical Engineer/Developer's analytical skills will be called upon as site conditions are evaluated, to determine geotechnical design data needs, assess remedial alternatives, perform engineering calculations, and develop designs. The GIS/Geotechnical Engineer/Developer will use technical writing skills to prepare work plans, reports, and design documents, including design specifications.

Job Duties:

Conduct research, present findings and results, and provide mentorship to fellow geoscientists. Utilize various Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and tools to collect geospatial data from multiple sources. Perform thorough data analysis to extract valuable insights, trends, and patterns. Create and maintain GIS databases to ensure data accuracy and availability. Conduct Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys to investigate subsurface structures and anomalies. Interpret GPR data to identify potential risks, including utility leaks, concrete defects, or other geologic features. Collaborate with other employees to provide geotechnical insights. Operate drones for aerial data collection, including high-resolution 2D and 3D imagery. Process and analyze drone-collected data to support geospatial and geotechnical projects. Ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards while conducting drone missions. Integrate data from various sources, including GIS databases, GPR surveys, and drone data to create comprehensive geospatial models. Develop automated workflows for seamless data integration and synchronization. Create custom GIS tools and applications to streamline data processing, visualization, and reporting. Maintain and enhance existing GIS applications to meet evolving project needs.

Education and Experience:
• Master's degree in Geophysics, Geospatial Science, Geosciences, or closely related field.
• 5+ years of demonstrated relevant experience in GIS technology, database administration, and systems administration.
• ArcGIS SDE geodatabase administration within an Esri/Windows Server/SQL Server environment.
• Experience with Esri technology, Python, SQL, or other scripting/geospatial application development tools.

Special Skills/License/Certification:

GIS Training in the following specific courses:
• Python
• Geocoding
• Geoprocessing Models
• Candidate should be willing to obtain a drone license if not already possessed.

Other Special Skills or Requirements:

Experience in the following areas:
• Three (3) years' of intensive experience with GIS.
• Two (2) years' experience with GPR.
• Additional required skills include the use of key platforms under the ArcGIS Suite of Tools.
