Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer III to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects.

You will work closely with the project manager to perform research, development, calculations, design, and delivery. You will apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.
  • Mentors, trains, and reviews work of junior engineer staff and provides constructive feedback.
  • Contributes to the successful project delivery for a diverse range of projects for HNTB's clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Primary focus on providing support for final design review and quality assurance/control, coordinating design development, and providing technical direction.
  • Knowledge of settlement estimates and monitoring requirements for soft ground TBM tunnel, and ability to communicate effectively with Sr. Geotechnical/Tunnel leads on the job, other discipline's designers, sub consultants, co-workers, and contractors.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Geotechnical Engineering experience.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification (depending on discipline).

Location:

Boston, MA, Parsippany, NJ (Fairfield), Rocky Hill, CT (Hartford).

Salary Range:

$87,000 - $136,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
